Do you have gaps between your teeth from missing teeth? You may feel self-conscious whenever you laugh or smile. This imbalance in structure can lead to your remaining teeth rotating or shifting to fill the empty spaces affecting your bite and smile.
In some cases, dental bridges may be an appropriate option to replace gaps allowing you to laugh and smile widely. In addition, a bridge can prevent movement of teeth avoiding issues as gum disease and jaw disorders.
A bridge is attached to your teeth on either side of the gap. It can be traditionally made up of at least two crowns cemented onto the natural teeth situated around the empty space left by the missing teeth. Another option is directly bonded to the teeth with minimal preparation and splinted directly with carbon fibre reinforced composite resin. This is a very conservative lower cost option that may be suitable in some circumstances. Unlike dentures, a dental bridge is not removable. A bridge is fixed in place making it a permanent and fixed solution. This means you do not need to remove and clean the bridge.
